Finding the Best Email Addresses

There can be some very good reasons behind setting up different email addresses and accounts, ensuring that people can achieve some kind of work/life balance and that work and personal emails are kept completely separate. This article highlights the major reasons for establishing different accounts and offers advice about password security.

Why Do People Have Numerous Email Accounts?

Some people have what can feel like a plethora of email addresses. But in some ways having two or three email accounts is no bad thing, since you can use different email accounts for different purposes.

If you have a work email address, but sometimes you work from home, then ideally you should be able to access your work’s email account from home, but often this is difficult or it doesn’t work as well in practice as it should do in theory! So what happens? Well you end up using your home email account, your personal email account and before you know it the lines are getting blurred and your home email address is being taken over by lots of work emails. Then you start to lose that work life balance and life becomes work and little in terms of a life!

But if you have a personal email account and then a semi business account you can keep a tighter reign on work taking over. So your home account is kept separate from work, but you have a web based account to make sure that you can send and receive emails about work.

It can be helpful to have email accounts set up to deal with any specific interests that you have or if you regularly give details of your email address on the internet. Keeping this separate from your very private mail account affords you a greater level of privacy. Some people even have shopping email addresses as well as personal, work, interests/networking accounts etc. This keeps all sectors of their lives very separate from each other: but remembering the passwords isn’t easy!

When you are setting up various email accounts it is actually important that you do not have the same password for all, since this makes you very vulnerable to someone finding out your password. Use different passwords, but ones that you can easily remember, otherwise you end up getting locked out of your account.

Keeping work and personal issues separated is a really good idea and it can really make sure that you don’t end up with work becoming too time consuming, so make sure that you separate the two by dividing up your emails!
